Canadians can continue to enjoy the charming taste of Europe

Among the many strengths of the project is the attention paid to unique European concepts of quality, tradition and safety.

For example, participants will discover Europe agri-food and labeling policies to protect quality, as well as a unique hygiene policy that distributes the responsibility for food safety among operators in the sector.

Another interesting point is how European producers retain their “old world craftsmanship” while taking advantage of industrial technology to meet modern demands.

The project is coordinated by the Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzo Wines and helped by Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Kavala (Kavala COOP), Rashi Pieria Agricultural Cooperative AGIOS LOUKAS” and the Union of Sweet Wines of Bordeaux. All four represent farmers, winegrowers, winemakers and manufacturers known worldwide for their craft, and all will continue to be featured in initiatives and events dedicated to consumers, journalists and professionals.

Over the past year (and for the next two years), Canadians have been especially treated to the beautiful Abruzzo grapes created by the high mountains of the Apennines to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the east; varietal aromas from Bordeaux single degrees of gravel, clayey sand and limestone on a bed filled with alluvium; the sweet kiwi nectar from the sandy soils of Greece Nestos River; and cherries from the actual foothills of present-day Mount Olympus.
